Description

September four hundred years ago, the Mayflower Ship set out to sail the Atlantic, a journey that was to take over nine weeks. By mid October, the voyagers, both religious separatists and fairer-fortune seekers, had still not reached land.  This is the story of a group of men and women who left their home to find a promised land where they would be free to meet and worship without fear of persecution.  It is a story of a long and arduous journey, a human story of turmoil, suffering and hope, and it is an important part of American history, mythology and culture to this day.

To commemorate the 400th Anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower, One Voice, One Cello & A Mad Belgian have written a Song-Cycle named “Memories of the Mayflower” describing some of the experiences that may have been shared by those involved.  This album is presented in a deluxe illustrated paperback book, with a CD and download/streaming code.  The book contains original drawings by Rupert Gillett, as well as the story of the Mayflower, quotations and the lyrics to the songs.
